Opportunity Overview
Sandhills Area Foundation is accepting applications for its 2027 community grant cycle. The Foundation is a Nebraska public charity focused on the Sandhills of Cherry County and supports projects serving local charitable, educational and social purposes, youth programs, and facilities addressing the health, educational and social needs of area residents.
Deadline
September 30, 2026. The Foundation does not publish an exact closing clock time or time zone. The grant committee plans to evaluate applications and award funds in December 2026.
Funding
The current 2027 grant page does not publish a universal per-applicant maximum, award range or total funding pool. Sandhills Area Foundation states that it prefers to partially fund projects rather than serve as the sole source of funding. Historical awards should not be treated as a current-cycle ceiling.
Eligibility
Only organizations located in Cherry County, Nebraska, or organizations serving Cherry County residents are eligible. Grants are not awarded to individuals, for religious or political purposes, or to for-profit organizations. Nonprofit organizations supporting youth programs and demonstrating broad community support receive priority consideration.
Application and Requirements
Applicants should download and complete the Foundation’s current grant application, print and sign it, and return the completed form to the Foundation. The grant page directs applicants to email completed forms to sandhillsareafoundation@gmail.com. Grant recipients must provide a final report within one year after payment, display signage recognizing Foundation support, be available for media coverage and check presentation, and allow periodic project monitoring.
Atlas Assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 82/100. N9+ Fit Score: 35/100 conditional. This is a legitimate rural Nebraska community-funding opportunity with explicit relevance to organizations serving health, educational and social needs and a history of supporting schools, fire and rescue organizations, youth programs and community projects. The current 2027 guidance does not specifically establish medical-device, telehealth, remote-examination technology or contracted clinical-service costs as allowable. Atlas therefore does not force a role for the Nonagon N9+ device and platform or QC Healthcare. Dr. Miltie is not an eligible direct applicant under the published nonprofit/community eligibility structure.
