2027 Asian Cultural Council Organization Grant

The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) is accepting 2027 Organization Grant applications from eligible nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, government-affiliated or sponsored cultural institutions, and higher-education institutions based in the United States or designated Asian countries and territories. Funding supports meaningful arts and cultural exchange, immersion, and research across eligible locations. This is an applicant-facing philanthropic grant, not a vendor contract.

Individual funding and application deadline

Individual grant awards: up to $50,000 USD. ACC decides actual awards based on the submitted budget, feasibility, travel duration, and application quality. No guaranteed minimum award, overall program funding pool, or fixed mandatory matching percentage is published in the current guidelines.

Organization applications are due November 10, 2026, at 9:59 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time. The separate recommendation-letter deadline is November 16, 2026, at 9:59 a.m. Eastern Time. Applications are open October 1 through November 10, 2026. ACC-funded activities and travel must occur between August 1, 2027, and December 31, 2028.

Who can apply

Eligible lead organizations must be legally registered in an ACC-eligible country, territory, or region; be a nonprofit organization, qualifying government-affiliated arts/cultural institution, or academic/higher-education institution; and have at least five years of artistic or cultural programming experience. Designated activity leads and participants must be citizens or legal permanent residents of ACC-eligible locations. ACC applies additional discipline, alumni, location, and grant-history restrictions. Applicants may apply to only one ACC program in a cycle.

Eligible activities and important restrictions

The program supports one to six months of cultural exchange travel for approved activity leads and participants or the hosting of eligible visitors. Travel to the United States generally requires at least 30 consecutive days; travel in Asia generally requires at least 30 cumulative days, subject to stated visa exceptions. Organizations are responsible for visas and travel permissions; ACC does not sponsor visas for Organization Grants.

Potentially allowable costs include economy airfare, local transportation, accommodation, food and daily living costs, visa fees, required travel health insurance, interpretation, and eligible cultural-exchange research expenses. International travelers must obtain insurance meeting ACC’s specific coverage requirements. The grant does not fund production or promotion of predetermined works, exhibitions or concert series, capital or equipment purchases, higher-class airfare except approved medical exemptions, or travel for people not listed as participants.

How to apply

Review the complete official 2027 guidelines and submit using ACC’s GoApply portal with an Organization Account. Complete the eligibility quiz and online form. Required organization materials include contact information, activity lead and participant details, CVs/resumes, representative work samples, a recommendation letter, two professional references, a budget prepared in the ACC template, organization logo, and proof of nonprofit status as applicable. ACC will not accept applications via email. A recommendation must be uploaded after the application is submitted, before the separate November 16 deadline.
