Required next actionIdentify a specific eligible fee-collecting Mississippi county and a credible archival-records project; verify current county participation and records-management-fee collection, project scope, guaranteed 20% cash match, procurement approach, and verified business Contact/email; then complete CRM, Contact, Deal, Atlas_Email_Queue and authoritative send-history deduplication before any ORIGINAL outreach.
Broad Eligibility
Mississippi counties fully participating in the Local Government Records Program and collecting the additional records-management fee under Mississippi Code §25-60-5 are eligible. One application is allowed per county. MDAH lists 81 participating counties in the FY2027 Round Seven guidelines. A qualifying community partner may participate only in the narrow circumstances defined by the guidelines for storage of publicly accessible county records.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score 72/100. Legitimate, current Mississippi-administered local-government grant with a clear deadline, 81 participating counties, defined allowable costs and straightforward application structure. Strategic value is moderate because the reimbursement cap is $10,000 and the use case is narrowly limited to county archival records preservation/storage. N9+ Fit 0/100 and QC Healthcare/direct-vendor fit 0/100; this opportunity does not support a defensible clinical or telehealth role and N9+ must not be introduced or forced. Applicant-specific outreach may be appropriate only after county eligibility, project need, match, verified recipient, opt-out/bounce controls, and global deduplication are confirmed.
The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) Local Government Records Office is accepting Round Seven FY2027 Local Government Records Grant applications from Mississippi counties that participate in the Local Government Records Program and collect the additional records-management fee authorized under Mississippi Code §25-60-5.
Each participating county may submit one application. The maximum reimbursement grant is $10,000, with at least five awards totaling $50,000 expected. A cash match equal to at least 20% of the grant amount is required and must be guaranteed. Grant-funded work must directly support preservation, storage, and management of archival or historical county records. Eligible examples include shelving, digitization/electronic-records storage equipment, archival preservation supplies, book repair or rebinding, UV-protective film, vendor digitization/indexing, and HVAC upgrades in archival areas. Salaries and wages, architectural/engineering fees, routine maintenance, and shredding are not eligible.
Applications must be received or postmarked through USPS by October 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM CST. Projects are reimbursement-based, so grantees must incur and document eligible costs before reimbursement and must follow MDAH standards and applicable procurement requirements.
