Applicant-facing public health grant. Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) opened a competitive 2026 Request for Proposals on October 13, 2026, for community-led initiatives that enable youth and young adults to lead commercial tobacco prevention and policy, systems, and environmental change. This is financial assistance for eligible applicants, not vendor procurement.
Who may apply: Minnesota-based clinics, community health boards and local public health organizations, institutions of higher education, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and Tribal governments, subject to the controlling RFP.
Deadline and application: Proposals are due November 13, 2026 at 4:00 PM Central Time through the MDH-linked online grant portal. An optional, nonbinding notice of intent is due October 23, 2026 at 4:00 PM Central Time. Missing that optional notice does not disqualify an application. MDH expects award notification January 15, 2027 and a March 1, 2027 grant start.
Applicant funding: An individual maximum or award range is not yet verified from the controlling RFP. No statewide program figure should be substituted for an individual grant award. Matching requirements, eligible expenses, and full restrictions remain subject to the RFP and applicable amendments.
Submission documents: MDH provides a work plan, budget template, due diligence review form, and conflict-of-interest disclosure. Applicants should consult the official program page for the RFP PDF, application questions, evaluation criteria, agreements, and the submission portal before preparing an application.
