Opportunity Overview
The Ypsilanti Area Community Fund (YACF), administered through the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, is accepting 2026 applications for community-based projects in Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township. The program seeks projects that measurably increase health outcomes and educational attainment while supporting racial equity, economic empowerment, systemic transformation, and community revitalization.
Funding and Deadline
Applicants may request up to $10,000. The application deadline is Friday, September 25, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST. AAACF states that applications submitted after that time will not be accepted.
Priority Areas and Geography
Priority areas include community public health, specifically mental-health supportive programming, violence-prevention support, and health and wellness opportunities for families; youth educational support through mentoring and leadership development; and community support addressing homelessness prevention, employment, and economic stability. The program focuses on Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township, specifically ZIP codes 48197 and 48198.
Eligibility and Submission
AAACF’s general competitive-grant eligibility guidance states that 501(c)(3) nonprofits providing services in Washtenaw County are eligible. Organizations may submit one unique application per grant program. Applicants register and submit through the AAACF application portal. Amina Iqbal, Principal Community Investment Officer and Strategist, is the published program contact.
Cost and Procurement Verification
The current YACF announcement does not publish a total program pool, mandatory match or cost-share requirement, detailed allowable-cost schedule, equipment rule, or vendor/subcontract procurement rule. Those points must be confirmed for a project before Atlas represents technology or contracted services as allowable.
Atlas Strategic Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 94/100.
N9+ Fit Score: 42/100, conditional applicant-led. YACF expressly prioritizes community public health and family health/wellness, which can support a legitimate remote-care concept for a qualifying local nonprofit. However, the public materials do not expressly authorize equipment, telehealth platforms, or vendor costs, and the $10,000 request ceiling constrains project design. The Nonagon N9+ should be included only if the applicant has a specific remote physical-examination use case and AAACF confirms the proposed cost treatment. Dr. Miltie, LLC is not an eligible prime applicant under AAACF’s nonprofit eligibility rule.
Verification Notes
No solicitation number, total program pool, match requirement, equipment rule, or detailed vendor procurement requirement is published on the controlling pages reviewed by Atlas. Applicant-specific tax, governance, budget, staffing, program, and other documentation must come from the applicant and will not be fabricated.
