Opportunity Overview
The West End Health Foundation (WEHF) is accepting applications for its Fall 2026 Programmatic Grant for health and wellness programming benefiting Marquette County’s West End. WEHF’s September 2, 2026 current-cycle announcement states that applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s online portal no later than September 30, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Funding and Eligible Geography
WEHF states that competitive grants range from $1,000 to $10,000, with $50,000 total identified in its competitive-grant guidance. Priority is given to programs and services serving West End residents. WEHF defines the West End as the cities of Ishpeming and Negaunee and the townships of Champion, Ely, Humboldt, Ishpeming, Michigamme, Negaunee, Republic, Richmond, and Tilden. In some cases, programs serving Marquette County or Michigan’s Upper Peninsula may also be considered.

Eligible applicants are organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) or other nonprofit designation, governmental units, and school districts. WEHF generally limits an organization to one grant award per calendar year, and prior grant reports must be submitted before an organization can be considered for future funding.

Qualifying health-education topics include diabetes, asthma, arthritis, cancer, heart disease, prenatal health, dementia, obesity, suicide prevention, and other health-related issues.
Eligible and Ineligible Cost Positioning
The Fall Programmatic Grant is designed for activities, services, or initiatives that directly deliver programming to the community, including workshops, outreach, events, staffing, curriculum, and operational expenses tied to a specific program. WEHF expressly directs requests involving tangible purchases or improvements, including equipment, technology, durable goods, and construction/facility improvements, to its Spring Capital Grant instead. Applications are submitted through WEHF’s online grant portal. The public grant page provides organizational-profile access and collaborator guidance, including a Lead Applicant role. The live application portal is JavaScript-driven and its full form/attachment checklist was not publicly readable in Atlas verification, so applicant-controlled forms, attachments, references, budget fields, and certifications must be confirmed inside the portal before submission. All awards require reporting; grants over $5,000 require a six-month progress report and a final report.
