Saginaw Community Foundation (SCF) is accepting General Grant applications for the October 2026 cycle. The program supports a wide variety of projects benefiting people and communities throughout Saginaw County.
Deadline and eligibility
Deadline: October 1, 2026. Emailed applications are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on the due date. SCF does not publish a time zone on the controlling page.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, local units of government, and religious institutions benefiting Saginaw County. SCF ordinarily makes grants for one year.
Required pre-application step
Applicants must contact SCF competitive grant staff before submitting. Staff review the proposed project for eligibility and, if appropriate, assign a grant number. The grant number must be included for the application to be complete.
Application package
The General Grant Application requires signatures from the organization’s chief executive officer and board chair, a comprehensive project budget, and supporting materials. Required supporting financial information includes the first two pages of the most recent IRS Form 990, the organization’s current operating budget, the most recent year-to-date financial statement, and documentation substantiating project expenses such as quotes or bids. Applicants also provide a project narrative of five pages or less, an organizational background of two pages or less, and a governing board list.
SCF normally does not fund operating budgets, basic municipal services, basic educational functions, endowment campaigns, previously incurred debt, or sectarian religious programs. It does not fund projects where expenses have already been incurred or contracts committed.
The public guidance does not publish a universal award ceiling or mandatory match requirement.
Preferred submission: email the completed application and attachments to Kendra Kempf, Competitive Grants Program Officer, at kendra@saginawfoundation.org. Mail and hand delivery are also permitted under the published rules; fax submissions are not accepted.

Atlas fit assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 74/100. This is a legitimate local Michigan funding source with broad community, health, welfare, and education relevance, but no published universal award ceiling.
N9+ Fit Score: 35/100, conditional. The broad program could potentially support an eligible applicant’s health-related project, but the controlling guidance does not specifically identify telehealth, clinical technology, or medical equipment. A role for the Nonagon N9+ device and platform should not be assumed without applicant-specific confirmation.
Dr. Miltie, LLC is not an eligible prime applicant under the published applicant classes. Any vendor or service role would require an eligible applicant and project-specific confirmation of allowability before commitment.
