Quimby Family Foundation Autumn Application Period – Maine
The Quimby Family Foundation awards grants to Maine-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations working to advance Human Wholeness through its Movement and Nourishment focus areas. The current Autumn Application Period is open from September 1 through October 31, 2026.
Funding
The Foundation’s current FAQ states that grants range from $2,000 to $20,000.
Exact deadline
The Foundation states that applications/form entries are ordinarily due by 11:59 PM on the final open application date. It also states that when a due date lands on a weekend or holiday, responses are due by 5:00 PM EST on the next normal business day. Because October 31, 2026 falls on a Saturday, Atlas treats the controlling deadline for this Autumn period as Monday, November 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST.
Who may apply
Qualifying organizations generally must be Maine-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Organizations without their own 501(c)(3) status may use a qualifying fiscal sponsor. Hopeful grantees may apply in either application period, but not both.
Current form labeling
The Foundation’s live Apply page currently labels the available new-applicant forms as 2027 Movement and 2027 Nourishment, while the FAQ retains a 2026 example when explaining the one-cycle-per-year rule. Atlas therefore identifies this record by the current Autumn application period rather than inferring an award-year label.
Relevant health focus
Movement supports opportunities for people to consistently choose and meaningfully experience nearby nature and wilderness through movement and activity. Nourishment supports opportunities for people to consistently choose regional and plant-based foods that restore human and environmental health. The Foundation emphasizes community connection, equitable access, under-resourced populations, active lifestyles, nourishing food systems, and nature-linked well-being.
Important fit limits
The Foundation states that it is unlikely to fund organizations with annual budgets above $2 million, local/state/national government agencies, public or private educational institutions, hospitals and clinics, large human-service organizations, medical research, and organizations whose primary mission is not aligned with its focus areas. This opportunity is therefore strongest for smaller Maine community-health, food-system, wellness, outdoor-health, and prevention nonprofits rather than hospitals, clinics, or school districts.
Atlas assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 72/100. The opportunity is open statewide in Maine, has a clear health and wellness orientation, and allows general operating requests. Its narrower Movement/Nourishment mission and stated reluctance to fund hospitals, clinics, schools, large human-service organizations, and organizations over the preferred budget range limit fit for many traditional healthcare applicants.
N9+ Fit Score: 8/100. The Nonagon N9+ remote physical examination platform is not a natural fit for this funder’s Movement or Nourishment priorities, and hospitals/clinics are specifically listed among organizations the Foundation is unlikely to fund. Atlas should not position N9+ in this opportunity absent a highly unusual applicant-led project and explicit funder confirmation.
Dr. Miltie direct applicant path: Not eligible based on the published applicant requirements. Dr. Miltie, LLC is not a Maine 501(c)(3) nonprofit. A technology/vendor role is also weak because the program is not oriented toward clinical equipment or telehealth procurement.
Priority Maine applicant example
Healthy Acadia is a Maine 501(c)(3) community-health nonprofit serving Hancock and Washington counties. Its current work includes healthy food access, active living, prevention, community wellness, health equity, and programs that connect people with movement and nutritious food. Healthy Acadia also identifies the Quimby Family Foundation as a funder of its Downeast Gleaning Initiative, demonstrating historical funder alignment. Before current-cycle application work, Healthy Acadia should confirm it has not already entered the other Quimby grant period and that the proposed request remains within the Foundation’s current criteria.
