Opportunity Overview
The Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF) Meeting Support Program provides small grants for meetings and events that advance MeHAF’s mission to expand access to health care and improve health in Maine. Supported meetings should focus on objectives relevant to MeHAF’s mission and on populations experiencing disproportionate barriers to health or health care access.
Funding and Timing
MeHAF may provide up to $1,000 for a community or regional meeting and up to $2,000 for a statewide meeting. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, but a request must be submitted at least six weeks before the meeting. The current program guidance does not publish a fixed terminal deadline, submission time, or time zone.
Who Can Apply
Across MeHAF funding opportunities, eligible organizations include Maine-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, local, state, or tribal government entities, and educational institutions that comply with MeHAF funding policies. Individuals and private foundations are not eligible.
Eligible and Ineligible Uses
Meeting Support may cover appropriate event costs such as facilitators or presenters, speaker travel, and attendee stipends or travel when those costs support the eligible meeting. MeHAF states that Meeting Support does not fund general operating costs, individual staff training, or fundraising events.
Application Process
Applicants use MeHAF’s grants management process and should submit the request at least six weeks before the proposed event. An organization may receive only one Meeting Support award per calendar year.
Atlas Assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 72/100. This is a verified, continuously available Maine health access opportunity with broad nonprofit, public, tribal, and educational eligibility, but the small award size and meeting-specific purpose limit implementation scope.
N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. The program is designed for meeting and event support, not clinical technology acquisition, remote physical examination, direct care, or capital equipment. Atlas should not position the Nonagon N9+ device and platform as a funded cost under this opportunity.
Dr. Miltie and QC Healthcare direct-vendor fit: 0/100. No legitimate direct-vendor role is established by the current program guidance.
Next Action
Eligible Maine organizations with a qualifying health access meeting should confirm the event is at least six weeks away, define allowable meeting costs, verify they have not already received a Meeting Support award in the current calendar year, and apply through MeHAF’s grant system.
