Eligibility: Eligible applicants include Maine arts-based 501(c)(3) organizations and qualifying units of municipal, county, or tribal government legally established in Maine. Arts must comprise at least 50% of programming; applicants must have an organization budget above $25,000, at least one fiscal year of Maine programming, operational planning, a valid UEI, and active SAM.gov registration. Fiscal sponsorship is not permitted for non-501(c)(3) applicants.
Allowable uses: Eligible operating costs include facilities, salaries and wages, artist and contractual personnel fees, marketing, administration, accessibility costs, and equipment purchases under $5,000. Equipment over $5,000, construction, fundraising, lobbying, debt repayment, and other listed costs are ineligible.
Application: Applications are submitted through the Maine Cultural Access Portal and require organization documentation including IRS determination, recent federal tax return, staff and board lists, an operational plan, and a profit and loss statement.
