Opportunity Overview

The Scott County Regional Authority Fall 2026 Grant Cycle is open for qualifying nonprofit, government, and educational organizations serving residents of Scott County, Iowa. SCRA supports defined charitable, civic, public, educational, patriotic, and religious programs and projects.

Deadline and Submission

Applications must be submitted through the SCRA online grant portal by October 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The current Fall 2026 notice does not publish a time zone. Fall projects are to be completed between December 1, 2026 and November 30, 2027. Award decisions are scheduled for November 17, 2026.

Funding

SCRA does not publish a universal per applicant maximum for the Fall 2026 cycle. Its standing guidelines expressly contemplate grants of $100,000 or more, which are subject to the SCRA multi cycle grant policy, continued gaming revenue, advance notice to the Board, and a Board discussion before submission. That provision establishes that six figure requests are possible, but it is not a universal award ceiling and should not be represented as one.

Eligible Applicants

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) nonprofit, a government entity, or an educational institution. The organization must serve Scott County residents, use the grant for services to Scott County residents, maintain the required legal standing, and have a local office and local corporate board with a significant number of Scott County residents. Nonprofit applicants must upload a balance sheet and income statement for the most recent full fiscal year.

Required Readiness

Applicants must have available for review an independent financial statement for the previous year, the organization budget for the present year and grant year, and the prior year annual report. SCRA does not fund individuals, political or lobbying activity, endowments, operating deficits, ongoing operating expenses, or fundraising campaign expenses. Personnel costs are generally excluded except outside contracted services for a specific project. Grant payment is made after receipt of vendor invoices or signed bids or contracts.

Large Request Control

Requests of $100,000 or more must follow SCRA Board Policy 202 and require the organization to notify the Board of its intent and request a discussion appointment before submitting. The standing guidelines schedule that discussion for the third Thursday in September for a fall cycle. Applicants considering a six figure request should coordinate with SCRA immediately rather than assume the ordinary portal filing alone is sufficient.

Atlas Analysis

Atlas Opportunity Score: 91/100. The program has a strong local healthcare pathway because healthcare nonprofits and government entities can qualify, project specific vendor invoices and contracts are reimbursable, and SCRA has recently funded Community Health Care, Inc. for a Scott County healthcare access project.

N9+ Fit Score: 86/100, conditional. A qualified Scott County healthcare or public health applicant could potentially include the Nonagon N9+ device and platform in a defined access, outreach, chronic care, home or community health, or telehealth enabled clinical project. Any device, platform, implementation, contracted service, privacy, security, procurement, clinical workflow, and budget treatment must be confirmed by the applicant and SCRA before inclusion. No applicant intent, award, purchase commitment, or allowability determination is assumed.

Next Action

Qualified Scott County healthcare and public health applicants should confirm current organizational eligibility, board composition, project scope, financial documentation, vendor quotes or bids, and any prior SCRA grant obligations. For requests of $100,000 or more, contact SCRA promptly about the required Board discussion before the October 1 submission deadline.
