Opportunity Overview
Alliant Energy and the Alliant Energy Foundation are accepting applications for the 2026 Cycle 3 Community Grants program for eligible organizations in communities Alliant Energy serves in Iowa and Wisconsin. Atlas is tracking the Iowa first responder and community safety pathway because the current official guidance expressly supports lifesaving equipment for first responders.
Deadline and Application Process
Cycle 3 applications are due September 15, 2026. The current official Community Grants page does not publish a closing clock time or time zone, so applicants should submit before the calendar deadline rather than assume an end of day cutoff. Applications are managed through Alliant Energy’s CyberGrants portal. The Foundation accepts applications year round and reviews them in three annual cycles.
Eligibility and Funding
Funding is available only to organizations in communities Alliant Energy serves. An organization is eligible for one Community Grant per calendar year. Under Community Safety and Engagement, the current guidance specifically supports first responders seeking lifesaving equipment such as thermal cameras, gas monitors, fire gear and AEDs, with standard first responder funding of $1,000. The Foundation prefers support for specific programs, projects or initiatives.
Material Restrictions
The current program excludes contributions to individuals or for profit businesses, intermediary funding groups, fraternal or social clubs, body cameras, riot gear, tasers, K 9 service dogs, and several other categories. Computers, laptops and tablets are not funded through Community Grants and are instead directed to Alliant Energy’s TechRefresh program. Organizations should also confirm they have not already received or used their one Community Grant allocation for 2026.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 80/100 for Iowa EMS and first responder equipment. The program is directly relevant to Iowa fire and EMS organizations in Alliant Energy service communities where a discrete lifesaving equipment need matches the published Community Safety and Engagement focus.
N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. The published first responder pathway is centered on discrete lifesaving equipment, while computers, laptops and tablets are expressly excluded. Atlas therefore does not treat the Nonagon N9+ device and platform as a verified eligible cost under this opportunity. This opportunity is publication intelligence and applicant screening for qualifying first responder equipment, not an N9+ direct vendor pathway.
Next Action
Eligible Iowa first responder organizations should confirm that their community is served by Alliant Energy, verify that they have not already used their 2026 Community Grant allocation, confirm that the proposed item falls within an eligible category, and submit through the CyberGrants portal before September 15, 2026.
