Power Up Indiana is an Indiana Department of Workforce Development / State of Indiana Office of Commerce workforce training reimbursement program for eligible Indiana employers training existing workers. Healthcare providers are expressly included among eligible business sectors.
Funding
Current Indiana DWD materials state reimbursement of up to $5,000 per trained employee and up to $50,000 per employer per year. The program is not an entitlement and awards depend on available funding and local workforce development board approval.
Current employer and employee requirements
Current DWD materials require the employee to be a current worker who satisfactorily completes approved training and receives at least a 25% wage increase. The current reimbursement support sheet states that the wage increase must be maintained for two consecutive quarters. The detailed manual also requires the final wage to exceed the applicable regional median after training.
Employer requirements include an Indiana company with a current Indiana SUTA account, unemployment insurance taxes in good standing, Indiana Secretary of State registration, and a physical Indiana location. Required documentation can include job description and salary information, signed grant/training agreements after approval, curriculum, payroll proof, training completion or certification, and invoices.
Eligible training pathways
DWD materials identify industry-recognized credentials, cross-training or reskilling, leadership development, apprenticeships, SEAL work-based learning, U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship, and specialized company training among supported training pathways, subject to program approval.
Deadline and application pathway
No centralized application deadline is currently published. Employer qualification and funding are administered through local workforce development boards. Employers begin at powerup.dwd.in.gov, after which the Power Up Indiana team follows up regarding qualification and next steps.
Healthcare and Dr. Miltie fit
Atlas Opportunity Score: 88/100. The opportunity is strong for Indiana healthcare employers seeking structured workforce upskilling where the required wage progression can be documented.
N9+ Fit Score: 10/100, low and conditional. The controlling materials establish reimbursement for employee training, not general equipment acquisition. Atlas should not represent Nonagon N9+ hardware as an eligible reimbursable cost. A limited N9+ relationship may exist only where an approved specialized company training scope legitimately involves guided examinations, vitals, or telehealth-enabled clinical workflows.
Pursuit structure: Partner-Led. Dr. Miltie direct eligibility is not presumed because the employer eligibility rules require a physical Indiana location and other Indiana employer conditions.
Source-control note
The live Indiana DWD Power Up Indiana page currently links a detailed manual titled 2025 Reimbursement Grant. Atlas therefore preserves that title/date discrepancy as a source-control caveat while relying on the current DWD page and current-linked materials. No application deadline, funding availability, or cost eligibility should be inferred beyond the controlling State materials.
