Verified September 23, 2026. The Indiana Department of Health Activity-Based Therapy Program is accepting 2026 applications for Indiana-based programs providing rehabilitative clinical care using activity-based approaches for traumatic spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury. The program has two separate funding mechanisms, one for SCI and one for TBI.
Funding and deadline
Each RFA permits a maximum request of $150,000 for the total project duration, with projects limited to two years. The current submission deadline is November 3, 2026. The official Indiana CTSI opportunity page and 2026 RFA do not publish an exact submission clock time or time zone, so Atlas will not infer one.
Eligibility
Eligible lead institutions and organizations must be based in Indiana and have staff with the education, skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed program. The RFA lists a broad range of eligible organization types, including higher-education institutions, nonprofits, small businesses and other for-profit organizations, state government entities, tribal organizations, faith-based organizations, and community-based organizations. The program director and all program staff must be employed by an Indiana-based organization.
The review criteria further require the health care clinic housing the activity-based therapy program to be tax-exempt under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code, employ Indiana-licensed physical therapists, and provide long-term activity-based therapy services in Indiana at affordable rates to people with traumatic SCI or TBI who require extended post-acute care.
Allowable costs and project controls
The RFA states that funding may be used to launch sustainable activity-based therapy programs or therapeutic approaches and for equipment purchases. Staff salaries and therapeutic equipment are allowable. Indirect costs, conference or seminar travel, creation of an endowment, and expenses that can be billed to a third party are not allowable. Equipment requests must be tied to documented program need, client population, access, impact, and benefit.
Submission
Applications are submitted through Indiana CTSI WebCAMP using the official ABT application and guidelines. Uploaded materials must meet applicable digital-accessibility requirements.
Atlas fit
Atlas Opportunity Score: 90/100. N9+ Fit: 34/100 conditional. The program expressly allows therapeutic equipment, but it does not establish a general telehealth, software, platform, or broad technology category. Any N9+ role must be applicant-led, directly tied to an eligible rehabilitation need, defensible as therapeutic equipment or program-delivery technology, and accepted within the final budget. Ordinary INITIAL OUTREACH must not introduce or sell N9+.
Required next action
Before package production or ORIGINAL outreach, verify the applicant-specific clinic structure, program staff, targeted SCI or TBI mechanism, equipment need, final budget treatment, exact submission cutoff if published, verified business Contact, Email_Opt_Out status, permanent-bounce status, and deduplication across Account, Contact, Deal, Atlas_Email_Queue, and authoritative send history. Do not infer applicant facts, recipient email addresses, or technology allowability.
