The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation (HCF) is accepting letters of interest for its Support for Living with Disabilities funding opportunity. The program supports Hawaiʻi organizations whose mission or core programs center people with disabilities through existing programs, advocacy, infrastructure support, and community-based health and wellness.
Funding and deadline
HCF anticipates 15 to 20 awards of up to $50,000 for the two-year grant term from November 16, 2026 through December 31, 2028. The online Letter of Interest deadline is Friday, October 2, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. HST.
Match/cost share: No mandatory match or cost-share requirement is stated in the controlling September 16, 2026 funding opportunity.
Who can apply
Eligible organizations must have an established record of serving people with disabilities in Hawaiʻi, with a core mission or core programs that prioritize people with disabilities. Applicants should be community-based or demonstrate a clear commitment to centering people with lived experience. Organizations without 501(c)(3) status may apply with a fiscal sponsor. Organizations with overdue HCF final reports are not eligible.
Selection priorities
HCF will consider service to priority disability communities, leadership and representation from people with lived experience, capacity for collaboration and shared learning, geographic distribution across the islands, and diversity of communities served.
Application process
The application is a two-step process beginning with a short online Letter of Interest through HCF’s Grants Portal. Applicants must have a current certified Organization Profile. The LOI requests an organization description, interest and capacity for cohort collaboration, a general project overview, expected results, populations served, and disaster-recovery information when applicable. Invited applicants will later complete a full application. A separate detailed program budget is not required at the LOI stage.
Fiscal-sponsored applicants must ensure the fiscal sponsor has a certified portal profile with its IRS determination letter and current financial documents, and the fiscal sponsor must certify the application before submission.
Atlas analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 91/100. This is a strong statewide health and human-services opportunity with direct relevance to organizations serving children and adults with physical, mental, learning, cognitive, visual, and other disabilities. N9+ Fit Score: 40/100. Infrastructure support is within scope, but the current funding opportunity does not specifically establish medical devices, telehealth equipment, or the Nonagon N9+ remote physical examination platform as allowable costs. Atlas will not represent N9+ as eligible without HCF confirmation.
Dr. Miltie, LLC does not appear to qualify as a direct applicant under the published mission/core-program eligibility. A Dr. Miltie or QC Healthcare role would require an eligible applicant-led project and confirmation that the proposed cost is allowable.
