Halt Cancer at X, administered by Montana Equestrian Events, Inc., is accepting 2026 Community Grant applications from eligible tax exempt organizations serving residents of the Flathead Valley and surrounding Montana communities affected by, or at risk of being affected by, breast cancer.
Maximum request: $10,000.
Deadline: October 1, 2026. The official guidelines do not publish a closing clock time or time zone.
Eligible organizations: organizations holding current tax exempt status under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), (4), (6), or (19), or qualifying affiliates of such organizations. Requested funds must benefit residents of the Flathead Valley and surrounding areas within Montana, with preference for projects having impact in the Flathead Valley.
Supported program categories: increasing awareness or availability of breast cancer screenings; modifying breast cancer risk through education, early intervention, or promotion of healthy lifestyles; education and support for women and families coping with breast cancer; assistance with financial concerns and other needs arising during active treatment; and wellness, community building, and return to health for breast cancer patients and survivors.
Material exclusions: the guidelines exclude requests benefiting only one person or family, research, third party giving or fund reallocation, lobbying and political activity, projects whose beneficiaries do not reside in Montana, capital campaigns and endowments, and individual travel or study requests.
Application mechanics: applicants must complete and sign the official application and provide the requested program narrative, measurable objectives, community need, resources and personnel, measurement plan, implementation timeline, detailed budget, other current or pending support, and alignment with Halt Cancer at X goals. Completed applications are submitted by email to the grant contact identified in the official application.
Grant term: October 31, 2026 through October 30, 2027, with a final report due October 1, 2027.
Atlas Opportunity Score: 84/100. This is a current, health specific Montana community grant with clear eligibility, a published official application, defined program categories, and a meaningful application window.
N9+ Fit Score: 18/100. The program may support screening access and related community health services, but the controlling guidelines do not establish medical equipment as an eligible cost and the $10,000 cap limits a defensible device specific role. Atlas is therefore not forcing an N9+ or direct Dr. Miltie pursuit.
