Opportunity Overview
The Community Foundation of South Georgia Public Education Funds — 2026-27 support innovative classroom projects in Brooks County, Grady County, Thomas County and Thomasville City public schools. The Foundation states that these annual grants are for student-focused projects that extend beyond normal school budgets and promote academic excellence and educational enrichment.
Funding and Deadline
For Brooks County, Thomas County and Thomasville City educators, individual mini-grants are available for up to $500. Grady County educators may receive mini-grants of up to $1,000, while the Richard and Teresa VanLandingham Maxi-Grant Education Fund may award up to $5,000 for qualifying Grady County projects. Applications are due Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The current first-party materials do not state a deadline-specific time zone, so Atlas does not infer one.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are educators working in the participating public school systems. Brooks County applicants must be educators in the Brooks County School System; Thomas County and Thomasville City applicants must work in those respective public school systems; Grady County applicants must be educators serving Grady County Public Schools. Projects must be classroom or school-year projects that are not funded by normal school budgets and must demonstrate educational enrichment and academic value.
Allowable Costs and Application Requirements
The current applications require a specific project description and a detailed budget. The forms expressly contemplate costs such as materials, registration fees and travel, and applicants must explain the academic purpose of the project, expected student impact, and any additional funding sources received or under consideration. Award recipients must document how grant funds were used, including receipts. The Thomas/Thomasville and Brooks applications require documentation of grant use by June 1, 2027. The current materials do not state a mandatory match or cost-share requirement, so Atlas does not infer one.
Submission
Thomas County and Thomasville City applications are submitted by email to the Community Foundation contact identified in the official application. Brooks County applications are submitted by email to the Brooks County school-system contact identified in the official application. Grady County mini- and maxi-grant applications are submitted to the Community Foundation contact identified in the current Grady County materials. Applicants should use the current official application for their school system and submit the complete packet by the stated deadline.
Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 68/100. The program is current, locally administered, clearly eligible for public-school educators and has concrete award limits and project requirements. Award size is modest, and applicant authority is educator-level rather than a broad institutional grant pathway.
N9+ Fit: 10/100 conditional. The applications allow classroom materials and related project costs, but the program is educational rather than healthcare-focused, and current rules do not specifically establish medical-device, telehealth, software-platform or clinical-use eligibility. Ordinary INITIAL OUTREACH must not introduce or sell N9+.
QC Healthcare Fit: 0/100. The current program does not establish a healthcare services, staffing or direct vendor pathway.
Original Outreach Gate
ORIGINAL outreach remains fail-closed until Atlas verifies the deadline-specific time zone, identifies a specific eligible school/educator project, confirms that the proposed costs are allowable and not covered by the normal school budget, verifies an appropriate business Contact and email, confirms Email_Opt_Out is not true, confirms there is no authoritative permanent hard bounce, and completes exact-opportunity deduplication across Account, Contact, Deal, Atlas_Email_Queue and authoritative send history.
