FY 2027 AmeriCorps State and National Competitive Grants – AC-08-28-26

AmeriCorps is accepting applications for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 AmeriCorps State and National Competitive Grants under opportunity AC-08-28-26, Assistance Listing 94.006. The program funds eligible organizations that engage AmeriCorps Volunteers in evidence-based or evidence-informed service interventions that strengthen communities.

For FY 2027, AmeriCorps is prioritizing programs serving concentrated-poverty, rural, and Tribal communities; expanding access to high-quality youth mental-health and substance-use recovery services and behavioral-health career pathways; improving quality of life for veterans and military families; strengthening public safety; creating workforce pathways; strengthening families; and serving formerly incarcerated and at-risk youth.

Deadline: The federal competition deadline is January 13, 2027 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Single-state applicants must apply through their Governor-appointed State or Territory Service Commission, and those commission deadlines may be substantially earlier. Applicants in South Dakota, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands apply directly to AmeriCorps because those jurisdictions do not have established commissions.

Eligible applicants include state, county, city/township and special-district governments; federally recognized Tribes and other Tribal organizations; qualifying nonprofit organizations; public and state-controlled institutions of higher education; nonprofit private institutions of higher education; and other entities specified by AmeriCorps. The Grants.gov synopsis marks cost sharing or matching as required. Current Grants.gov data do not publish total program funding, expected award count, award floor, or award ceiling.

The same controlling page still states that the official Montana Competitive Notice posts October 6, 2026. ServeMontana lists a Letter of Intent and associated documents due October 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM MST, followed by the complete application and additional documents due October 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM MST. Treat the currently exposed FY27 materials as pre-official and subject to change until the October 6 posting control is satisfied or ServeMontana affirmatively changes it.
