Opportunity Overview
Frontier Farm Credit’s Working Here Fund Grants support projects in eastern Kansas across agriculture education, hunger relief, rural disaster relief, and rural health services. The rural health focus expressly includes initiatives addressing mental health services and access to care.
Funding and Deadlines
Three funding levels are available. Awards of up to $5,000 are reviewed quarterly, with the current deadline of September 30, 2026. Awards of up to $15,000 and $25,000 are offered twice each year, with the current deadline of December 31, 2026. Frontier Farm Credit’s public page does not publish a clock time or time zone for these deadlines.
The $15,000 tier requires a formal plan, long-term goals, and a project budget of at least $15,000. The $25,000 tier requires a formal plan, long-term goals, and a project budget of at least $25,000, and funding is limited to up to 50 percent of the total project budget.
Who Can Apply
Projects must benefit communities within Frontier Farm Credit’s eastern Kansas service area. The program gives priority to nonprofit organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) exempt status. Organizations are typically limited to one Working Here Fund grant in a 12-month period and no more than $25,000 in five years.
Application Mechanics
Applications are submitted electronically through GrantsConnect, operated through YourCause. Applicants complete eligibility questions, all application fields, required information, and submit through the portal.
