Open Nevada education opportunity. The Community Foundation of Northern Nevada is accepting applications for the annual Kendyl Ruth Williams Depoali Memorial Fund Grants supporting Washoe County schools and teachers with classroom improvements that directly benefit students.
Deadline: applications are due October 31, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The current fund page does not publish a time zone for that clock time, so Atlas does not infer one. Grants are expected to be awarded by November 30, with funds disbursed in early December.
Funding: one or more grants of up to $4,000 may be awarded. The fund supports innovative classroom projects, professional development, curriculum programs, and needed classroom tools and supplies. The advisory committee prefers projects that are innovative and creative and clearly benefit students.
Eligibility: principals, teachers, administrators, or student organizations with faculty guidance and approval from Washoe County elementary, middle, or high schools may apply. The application requires a school name and address, principal name and signature, applicant/contact information, amount requested, project purpose, expected goals/results, estimated number of students affected, other funding sources, student impact, implementation barriers, project rationale, and a budget and expenditure schedule.
Submission: applications are submitted by email. The current official fund page directs applications to Marianne Reger at MReger@WashoeSchools.net and/or Lauren Ohlin at LOhlin@washoeschools.net. Under WCSD Board of Trustee policy, District grant applications must be submitted by the Grants Department to the Community Foundation. Awarded funds must be expended within 90 days of award.
Match and cost share: the current official materials do not state a mandatory match or cost-share requirement. The application does ask applicants to disclose other funding sources, if any.
Atlas analysis: this is a direct K-12 education opportunity with a clear Nevada geographic restriction, a current open application window, a simple official application, and a practical classroom-project use case. The maximum award is modest and the program is designed for school-level classroom improvements rather than large clinical, technology, or healthcare infrastructure projects. N9+ fit is therefore low and should not be force-fit. QC Healthcare fit is low unless a school identifies an independently supportable student-health classroom project within the fund’s rules.
