Opportunity Overview
Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut Women & Girls Grants are open for the 2026 cycle, with applications due October 2, 2026. The Foundation’s current public grantmaking page does not publish a clock time or time zone for this deadline, so applicants should confirm the live portal before final submission.
The Women & Girls Funds support programs benefiting women and girls across Eastern Connecticut and have awarded more than $3.6 million over time.
2026 Priority Areas
- Enrichment opportunities specifically for girls, including mentoring, leadership, and career exposure.
- Healthy relationships and domestic violence prevention, including education, shelters, transitional housing, and victim advocacy.
- Family economic security, including job training, career advancement, and supports for low income women.
- Access to women’s health, mental health, and reproductive health services, including counseling, health education, and healthcare access.
- Public policy, advocacy, and leadership supporting equity.
- Support for New London women age 62 and older with limited incomes who are seeking to remain in their homes, including meal delivery and nursing services.
Eligibility and Geography
CFECT’s current grant FAQ says eligible applicants include nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, organizations using an eligible nonprofit fiscal agent, and municipal or governmental agencies. Organizations based outside Eastern Connecticut may apply when the proposed work and budget are clearly carried out in one or more communities served by the Foundation. The Foundation serves 42 towns and cities in New London, Windham, and Tolland Counties. Applicants should confirm the applicable Women & Girls Fund geography and current portal criteria. Organizations new to the Foundation, or applying for a new program, should contact CFECT before beginning the application.
Funding and Match
CFECT’s current grant FAQ states that Women & Girls grant requests may be up to $20,000. The public program guidance reviewed by Atlas does not state a universal mandatory match or cost share requirement. Applicants should rely on the live application portal and current program guidance for controlling budget, form, and attachment requirements.
Submission
Applications are submitted through the Foundation’s online grant portal. CFECT recommends that grant seekers contact the Foundation before beginning an application. General grant questions may be directed to grants@cfect.org or 860 442 3572. New organizations or organizations proposing a new program are directed to Program Director Jennifer O’Brien at JennOB@cfect.org.
Healthcare Relevance
This is a strong Connecticut healthcare and community health opportunity because the published priorities expressly include women’s health, mental health, reproductive health, counseling, healthcare access, domestic violence services, and nursing services. Eligible organizations should still confirm the specific fund geography and current portal requirements before preparing an application.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 90/100. The opportunity is current, Connecticut controlled, geographically relevant, and directly supports multiple healthcare and behavioral health needs affecting women and girls.
N9+ Fit Score: 45/100 conditional. A legitimate role for the Nonagon N9+ device and platform could exist only within a verified applicant led healthcare access project where the current grant rules allow the relevant technology and clinical use. The public grant page does not establish device procurement, telehealth equipment allowability, or an applicant specific technology need, so Atlas should not force a device role.
Next Steps
Confirm service area and applicant eligibility, complete the required Foundation conversation when applicable, review the live grant portal for current forms and attachments, and submit by October 2, 2026. Because the Foundation does not publish a clock time or time zone on the public grantmaking page, applicants should verify the live portal well before the deadline date.
