Opportunity Overview

Community Foundation of the Lowcountry Impact Grants are competitive grants for nonprofit projects that launch new programs, improve or expand existing services, or support major capital projects that are critical to an organization’s mission.

For FY2027 Cycle 1, full applications are due October 1, 2026. The required Letter of Intent deadline was September 1, 2026, so this cycle is only actionable for organizations that completed that step and received the Foundation’s portal access.

Funding and Eligibility

Impact Grant request budgets are greater than $10,000, and grant terms are typically 12 months. The current official guidelines do not publish a universal maximum award amount or a mandatory match requirement.

Eligible applicants must be qualifying nonprofit organizations serving people who live and/or work in Hilton Head Island, Daufuskie Island, or Greater Bluffton.

Application Process

Applicants must discuss project eligibility with Community Investment staff and receive an access code for the grant portal. New applicants that did not complete the September 1, 2026 LOI should plan for the next cycle rather than treating the October 1 deadline as open entry.

Atlas Assessment

Atlas Opportunity Score: 58/100. N9+ Fit Score: 0/100 at the program level. The opportunity may support health or human services projects, but no direct N9+ role is established by the grant guidelines.
