The Community Foundation for Mississippi (CFM) offers Nonprofit Capacity Building Mini-Grants year-round to help eligible nonprofits strengthen organizational effectiveness, internal systems, governance, and management capacity.
Funding / support: CFM’s current competitive-grants portal states a typical award range of up to $500. The program is primarily delivered as in-kind technical assistance, discounts, or scholarships for professional development; CFM also states that financial assistance may be available for a predetermined training course or to hire a specific vetted nonprofit consultant. The majority of awards are discounted or free workshop/training participation rather than unrestricted cash grants.
Deadline: Open year-round. No fixed closing date, clock time, or time zone applies to the current rolling program.
Eligibility: 501(c)(3) nonprofits within CFM’s 22-county service area in central and southwest Mississippi: Adams, Attala, Amite, Claiborne, Copiah, Franklin, Hinds, Holmes, Jefferson, Lawrence, Leake, Lincoln, Madison, Pike, Rankin, Scott, Simpson, Smith, Walthall, Warren, Wilkinson, and Yazoo counties.
Supported capacity-building activities: Examples published by CFM include strategic planning; board development and governance; succession planning; emergency preparedness; facilities, maintenance, or accessibility planning; DEIB workshops; program development; evaluation and data gathering; fundraising and grant writing; and staff development.
Submission: Applications are submitted through the Community Foundation for Mississippi Competitive Grants portal. The public portal requires an applicant account/login for the application itself; current applicant-specific form fields and attachments are therefore verified in the live portal before package production.
Match / cost share: The current public program page and portal landing page do not state a mandatory match or cost-share requirement for this mini-grant program. Applicant-specific portal requirements control.
Atlas note: This is a legitimate rolling nonprofit capacity-building opportunity, but the small typical award and professional-development focus make it unsuitable for N9+ or healthcare-equipment procurement. Before ORIGINAL outreach, Atlas must verify a specific eligible nonprofit, a genuine capacity-building need, the current portal requirements, a verified business Contact/email, Email_Opt_Out status, authoritative permanent-bounce status, and Account/Contact/Deal/Atlas_Email_Queue/send-history deduplication. Ordinary initial outreach must not introduce N9+.
