CDC’s Global Health Center is accepting applications for Strengthening Global Health Security through Local Partnerships in Sierra Leone, CDC-RFA-JG-26-0050. The federal opportunity listing and the NOFO cover and introductory deadline language close applications October 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. No cost share or match is required.
The controlling CDC NOFO states expected total Year 1 funding of $3,000,000 across three expected awards, with exact individual award amounts determined at award. The Grants.gov synopsis currently displays $125,000,000 in program funding, so applicants should distinguish the synopsis program figure from the NOFO’s stated Year 1 funding. The NOFO uses component funding and requires applicants to include the required component budgets and work plans. Year 1 ceilings are $1,000,000 for Component 1 core Global Health Security priorities, $10,000,000 for Component 2 rapid small-scale response, $15,000,000 for Component 3 rapid large-scale response, and $20,000,000 for Component 4 emerging infectious-disease threats. CDC expects Component 1 to be funded initially, while the other components may be approved but unfunded pending future availability.
The project must be conducted in Sierra Leone. The program focuses on resilient public-health systems, surveillance and data, diagnostics, workforce and institutions, prevention and response, and sustainable transition to Government of Sierra Leone and National Public Health Agency ownership. Qualifying local partners that document their status receive a 15-point selection preference. One application is permitted per UEI, research applications are nonresponsive, the Project Narrative is limited to 30 pages, and application budgets must use U.S. dollars.
The NOFO contains an internal deadline inconsistency: its Basic Information panel lists October 6, 2026, while the NOFO cover, its introductory application-due language, and the federal opportunity listing state October 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applicants should use October 2 as the controlling submission deadline unless CDC publishes a later formal clarification or amendment, and should recheck the federal listing immediately before submission.
