Box Impact Fund 2026 — Nonprofit Digital Transformation Grants
Box.org is accepting proposals for the Box Impact Fund, providing six applicant-facing charitable grants of $25,000 each to nonprofits using digital transformation to improve child welfare, crisis response, or environmental protection. Eligibility and project requirements
Eligible U.S.-based applicants must be recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofits, including organizations fiscally sponsored by a qualifying 501(c)(3). Non-U.S. applicants must hold equivalent recognized charity status in their country. India-based applicants require Foreign Contribution Regulation Act approval; certain sanctioned jurisdictions are excluded. Projects must demonstrably support one of three focus areas: child welfare (e.g., foster care services), crisis response (e.g., disaster or refugee assistance), or environmental protection (e.g., biodiversity or conservation).
Funding, allowable costs, and restrictions
$25,000 per selected nonprofit; six expected awards. Competitive criteria emphasize fit with mission-driven digital transformation, measurable impact, stakeholder inclusion, and scalability. Projects solely buying hardware or software are ineligible; the funder explicitly excludes purchasing Box products, licenses or services with this grant and does not require existing Box customers. General overhead should be kept within 10–20%. For international applicants, proposed software/hardware or other capital expenditures should not exceed $5,000 under the funder’s guidance. Grants must be expended within 12 months with outcomes reported at the end of the project.
IMPORTANT: Conflicting official deadlines require funder confirmation
The funder’s public FAQ states applications close November 10, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PST. However, its separate Terms and Conditions, effective November 5, 2026, state November 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PST. These are contradictory official instructions. Applicants should plan conservatively for the earlier November 10 deadline, check the live application form and obtain the current controlling deadline from Box before relying on either date.
