Opportunity Overview
The 2026 AR Health Ventures Accelerator (ARHVA) – Cohort 3 is a UAMS BioVentures program supporting translational development and commercialization of therapeutic and health-related innovations developed at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
Funding and Deadline
Selected projects may receive up to $50,000 in ARHVA-managed project support for an initial six-month development cycle. BioVentures anticipates supporting approximately two projects, subject to available resources. Applications are due September 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM. BioVentures does not state the time zone on the current program page, so applicants should confirm the applicable time zone before submission.
Eligible Applicants
All UAMS employees are eligible, including trainees and postdoctoral fellows. Applicants must be employed by UAMS. Projects that already have other funding may apply if the ARHVA work aligns with program goals and does not duplicate previously funded activity.
Eligible Projects and Application Requirements
Eligible technologies include drugs, biologics, diagnostics, medical devices, and other approaches intended to prevent, diagnose, manage, or treat health conditions. Competitive projects should address a defined translational or product-development barrier during a focused six-month cycle. The proposal requires a project title and summary, investigator or inventor information, a one-page project description with objectives, anticipated impact and ARHVA alignment, a one-page outcomes and milestones section, a budget of up to $50,000 including external funding sources, and a project timeline. Applications must be submitted electronically to Allison Thompson, M.Ed., at athompson9@uams.edu. Late applications will not be considered.
Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 90/100. This is a strong Arkansas health-innovation funding opportunity for eligible UAMS investigators. N9+ Fit Score: 10/100. The Nonagon N9+ should not be forced into this program because the applicant must be a UAMS employee advancing a UAMS-origin innovation. A limited future collaboration could be legitimate only if a UAMS-owned project independently requires external validation, commercialization, or industry-partnership support involving remote physical examination technology.
Direct Dr. Miltie Review
Dr. Miltie, LLC is not an eligible direct applicant because the program is limited to UAMS employees. This should be treated as a partner-led UAMS opportunity, not a Dr. Miltie direct submission.
Next Action
Eligible UAMS investigators should assemble the required proposal package and submit it electronically to athompson9@uams.edu before the published deadline. Atlas should monitor for amendments or additional guidance and support a UAMS applicant if requested.
