Atlas Analysis

Current 2026 Women’s Development Fund materials support education, college and career readiness, workforce skills, leadership, financial capability, and business development for women and girls. The public materials reviewed do not establish a specific N9+ or QC Healthcare pathway. The application review criteria award points when at least 25% of project cost is secured from other cash or in-kind sources, which Atlas does not treat as a universal mandatory legal match unless controlling materials expressly say so.

Freeport-McMoRan’s 2026 Women’s Development Fund is accepting applications through October 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM Arizona time. The program supports organizations providing women and girls with opportunities to advance educational attainment and college or career readiness, develop leadership and character, create or expand businesses, increase financial capability, or strengthen employment through education and workforce skills training.

Eligible Arizona communities include Ajo, Bagdad, Bisbee, Graham County, Green Valley/Sahuarita, Greenlee County, Hualapai Tribe, Jerome/Clarkdale, Maricopa County, Miami/Globe, San Carlos Apache Tribe, Tohono O’odham Nation, and White Mountain Apache Tribe. Freeport-McMoRan states that an organization is eligible when its program benefits women and girls in an eligible community, with preference for rural operating communities, measurable impact, committed partnerships, use of DreamBuilder where appropriate, and sustainability beyond the grant period.

The current public materials do not state a maximum request cap. Applicants enter the grant amount requested and total project budget in the online application. The Foundation’s sample application requires use of its Project Budget template. Its review criteria state that, to receive a score for the funding-percentage question, a project must bring at least 25% of project cost through secured cash or in-kind support from sources beyond the Freeport-McMoRan request.

Applications are submitted through Freeport-McMoRan’s CyberGrants system. The current sample application also requires organization budget information, a board-member list, project details, the Foundation project budget template, project partners, impact metrics, and an electronic signature.
