Opportunity Overview
Open now. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation is accepting Letters of Inquiry for its 2027 Ken Kendrick Grand Slam Awards. Awards range from $50,000 to $250,000 for projects or capital purchases that increase a nonprofit organization’s capacity, efficiency, or effectiveness and provide a direct, measurable benefit to clients served.
2027 Timeline
Letters of Inquiry are accepted August 25 through September 24, 2026. Organizations selected from the LOI stage may submit full applications by invitation from October 14 through November 13, 2026. Finalist presentations are planned for February 2027, with funding awards planned for March 2027.
Eligibility and Program Focus
Applicants must be physically located in and serve people in Arizona, hold 501(c)(3) status with a valid IRS Tax ID or apply through a fiscal sponsor, and must not have received a Ken Kendrick Grand Slam Award within the prior year. The Foundation identifies homelessness, hunger, healthcare for the underserved, and youth programs as focus areas, with requests falling within human services.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 94/100. This is a strong Arizona capacity-building grant for qualified nonprofits, particularly when a project can demonstrate measurable service-access gains and a sustainable capital or technology investment.
N9+ Fit: 91/100 for a properly designed underserved-healthcare project. The N9+ remote physical-exam platform may be a defensible capital or technology component when an eligible nonprofit can show that it expands rural, mobile, underserved, or telehealth-enabled clinical capacity and meets the Foundation’s measurable-benefit and sustainability requirements. Fit must be established from the applicant’s actual project rather than assumed.
Next Action
Eligible Arizona nonprofits should prepare the required Letter of Inquiry of no more than 600 words summarizing the proposed project, timeline, and budget, and submit it by September 24, 2026.
