Maui United Way Ola Maui Nui Grant FY27 – Cycle 1
Maui United Way is accepting Cycle 1 applications for the Ola Maui Nui Grant, a competitive program supporting community recovery, financial security, food resiliency and healthy communities across Maui, Molokai and Lanai. Maui United Way anticipates investing up to $2.7 million through the program in FY27. Eligible applicants may request up to $100,000 per application.
Deadline: Cycle 1 closes October 31, 2026. The current Maui United Way RFP publishes the closing date but does not publish an exact clock time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one. No match or cost-share requirement is stated in the current RFP.
Eligible applicants: 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, fiscally sponsored organizations, and organizations serving Maui, Molokai and/or Lanai. Previously funded nonprofits must be in good standing with Maui United Way. Organizations may submit one application per review cycle and may receive only one Ola Maui Nui Grant award during FY27.
Healthy Community focus: eligible work includes mental and behavioral health services; health-care access, prevention, education and wellness; substance-use treatment and recovery; culturally grounded healing; and other programs supporting physical, mental, emotional, cultural and social well-being.
Eligible costs: program materials and direct-service costs, personnel and contracted services, equipment and technology necessary for program delivery, training, capacity building, evaluation/data collection, aligned community events, and administrative/indirect costs up to 15% of the request. The RFP states that equipment purchases directly related to the proposed work may be considered with prior approval from Maui United Way.
Required application materials include the 501(c)(3) determination letter, most recent audited financial statements, current IRS Form 990 and all schedules, current State of Hawaii DCCA Certificate of Vendor Compliance, board list, agency-wide operating budget, program budget and agency logo.
Fit evaluation: Strong Atlas fit for eligible Maui County nonprofits pursuing health access, behavioral health, recovery, wellness, resilience or related community programs. N9+ fit is conditional because the RFP permits equipment and technology necessary for program delivery and states that equipment purchases directly related to the proposed work may be considered with prior Maui United Way approval. QC Healthcare fit is likewise project-dependent. This is a grant opportunity, not a Dr. Miltie or QC Healthcare direct-vendor solicitation.
Submission: online through Maui United Way’s Grants Portal. Cycle 1 grant period is January 1 through December 31, 2027.
