Volunteer Louisiana has opened its FY27 AmeriCorps State Formula grant competition for Louisiana organizations establishing new AmeriCorps programs or continuing eligible State Formula programs. Awards support program activity from August 2027 through July 2028.
New applicants may include governmental agencies, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations operating an AmeriCorps program within Louisiana. The current 2027 AmeriCorps State and National priorities specifically include rural and tribal communities, high-quality youth mental health and substance-use recovery services, behavioral-health career pathways, workforce pathways, veterans and family-strengthening programs.
Key deadlines: New and continuation applicants must submit the Notice of Intent to Apply by January 3, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. New applicants must also complete the required AmeriCorps 101 for Staff course by that date. State Formula applications are due February 28, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Volunteer Louisiana then permits qualified applicants to refine applications through April 11, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. The current Volunteer Louisiana webpage does not state a time zone for these FY27 state deadlines, so Atlas is not inferring one.
