Opportunity Overview

The Georgia Trauma Commission opened its FY 2027 EMS Trauma-Related Equipment Grant on September 1, 2026 for qualifying Georgia 911-zone EMS providers. The program supports trauma-related equipment for peak-staffed ambulances.

Funding

The Commission lists a total FY 2027 allocation of $2,593,832.65. The minimum eligible funding floor is $12,000; providers above that floor are funded at $2,237.29 per peak ambulance, subject to the Commission’s provider allocation and program rules.

Key Deadlines

Special Equipment Request: October 2, 2026. If desired trauma equipment is not on the current approved list or was removed, the Commission permits a Special Equipment Request. Grant application: October 31, 2026. The controlling public page does not publish an exact submission time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one.

Eligibility and Equipment Control

Applicants must satisfy the Commission’s FY 2027 EMS eligibility requirements for Georgia 911-zone providers. Reimbursable equipment is controlled by Attachment B, the approved-equipment list. Applicant allocations are controlled by Attachment A.

Equipment Eligibility and Special Requests

Trauma-related equipment must be allowed under Georgia Trauma Commission Attachment B or expressly approved through a timely Special Equipment Request. The special-request deadline was October 2, 2026; the application deadline is October 31, 2026. Applicants should confirm each requested item against the approved equipment list, follow any individual approval determinations, and satisfy their provider-specific 911-zone and grant compliance requirements. The Commission may return applications that request unapproved equipment without the required special request.

FY 2027 Application and Compliance Details

The Commission’s current FAQ and checklist state that applicants must complete a separate electronic application for each applying county, upload a completed and notarized Attachment C affidavit, and submit through the Commission’s Jotform application. The FAQ allows shipping and freight, allows eligible equipment purchased within the year to be submitted for reimbursement, and requires grant recipients to participate in at least 50% of Regional Trauma Advisory Committee meetings. Grant records must be retained for at least five years from final payment. The FY 2027 affidavit further requires the applying organization to be the zoned 911 provider for the county, remain contracted as that provider through June 30, 2027, comply with Department of Public Health State Office of EMS data-submission requirements, participate in its EMS Region trauma-system plan, and attend at least 50% of Regional Trauma Advisory Committee quarterly meetings. Equipment purchased with grant funds cannot be sold or reallocated without Georgia Trauma Commission approval, grant dollars may not supplant existing local 911 EMS budget dollars, and noncompliance may result in a three-year Georgia Trauma Commission funding probation period.

Application Readiness

Eligible EMS agencies should confirm their Attachment A allocation, review Attachment B, identify the exact trauma-related equipment need, document ambulance deployment and clinical use, and determine whether a Special Equipment Request is required. Atlas should preserve the distinction between a strong conceptual fit and verified equipment allowability.
