2027 Delaware County Creative Learning Grants

The Roxbury Arts Group administers the New York State Council on the Arts Statewide Community Regrants program for Delaware County. Its distinct Creative Learning track supports teaching artists and community organizations offering hands-on, skills-based arts education to children, adults, seniors and other learners. Individual project grant requests range from $1,500 to $7,500.

Eligible applicants: Eligible teaching artists, community partners or nonprofit fiscal sponsors based in Delaware County, New York, may lead applications; a qualifying local nonprofit can also apply within program conditions. School partners cannot apply directly, but school-based or after-school arts projects can participate through an eligible teaching artist and local partner. Private/religious schools, colleges, universities, business corporations, NYS/county agencies and other excluded applicants are ineligible. The official rules address special allowances for tribal applicants.

Project requirements: Creative Learning must provide at least three sequential skills-based arts sessions, use a participatory artistic process, identify suitable learning goals and evaluation methods, and deliver work in Delaware County by December 31, 2027. Where a school or organization partners, the application needs a signed Letter of Commitment identifying the partners’ roles. Art must be the primary purpose; projects chiefly involving therapy, rehabilitation, religious worship, recreation, or non-art classroom materials are excluded.

Funding and match: An applicant may request $1,500–$7,500 for a single Creative Learning project. A minimum 10% project contribution from other sources is required; official general guidance permits eligible cash, in-kind support, or both. Applicants may submit up to three projects across the program’s grant categories, but generally cannot request more than $7,500 combined, except the stated Tribal Nation exception. No overall award pool or guaranteed number of funded projects has been announced.
