Colorado Springs Health Foundation — Winter/Spring 2027 Grants

Colorado Springs Health Foundation is accepting applications for the Winter/Spring 2027 funding opportunity, which supports organizations serving El Paso and/or Teller Counties, Colorado. This is a competitive charitable grant program for improving community health, distinct from the Foundation’s separate rolling capacity-building grants.

Eligible projects and organizations

Funding priorities are healthcare access (including physical, mental, oral and substance-use-disorder care and healthcare workforce needs), suicide prevention, and trauma prevention or healing. Eligible requests may support general operations, defined programs or projects, or capital needs. Applicant organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, fiscally sponsored by an eligible tax-exempt organization, or tax-supported entities such as schools or governments. For-profit organizations and individuals are not eligible. The Foundation does not support biomedical research, lobbying, annual appeals, fundraising events or regranting for an organization’s own grantmaking.

Individual grant funding

No standard minimum or maximum individual applicant award is published. The Foundation evaluates requests relative to project or organization budgets and prefers not to be the sole or majority funder. Grants generally last one year; some start-up collaborations or approaches may qualify for multiyear support if discussed in advance. No universal mandatory cost-share percentage is stated in the reviewed public guidelines.

Mandatory pre-application call and deadlines

Required staff conversation by Thursday, January 14, 2027. Applicants must schedule and complete a pre-application phone call with Foundation staff; an applicant that has not spoken to staff will not be considered. Full application deadline: Tuesday, January 26, 2027 at 12:00 noon Mountain Time. Decisions are expected in late March 2027. Applicants should register or sign in through the Foundation’s grant portal and review all current application questions and attachments.

Important restrictions and scoring considerations

Organizations with an existing open general operating, program/project or capital CSHF grant are ineligible for another grant of those types until the prior funds are spent and the final report approved. A recipient may receive no more than one such award per calendar year. The Foundation favors evidence-based or promising approaches, clear needs, measurable community health impacts, strong governance, diverse financial support and three years of financial statements. Complete budget and attachment instructions must be checked in the application portal before submission.
