2027 Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle Grants

The Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle (BWGC) is accepting applications for its 2027 funding cycle from November 1 through December 15, 2026. The application deadline is December 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). This is a competitive philanthropic grant for organizations delivering services that advance opportunities for women and their families in Baltimore City and/or Baltimore County.

Funding available

Applicants may request any amount up to $25,000 for a General Operating Grant or a Program Grant. The funder does not state a fixed minimum award or total 2027 program funding pool. Funding covers a single grant year, July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2028, and must be spent within the grant period; no multiyear grants are offered. The published guide does not establish a mandatory matching percentage or a standard reimbursement payment mechanism.

Who qualifies

Applicants must deliver relevant services within Baltimore City or Baltimore County and have an IRS 501(c)(3) public charity determination letter, work under a qualifying 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, or be a local branch of a qualifying national/state nonprofit. Applicants receiving a BWGC grant in 2026 are not eligible for the 2027 cycle. Programs requiring participants to follow a particular religion or attend religious services are ineligible. BWGC chiefly supports programs serving adult women and girls aged 12–18, also accepting programs serving children 11 and under; programs serving all genders receive priority when at least 75% of participants are women.

Eligible and ineligible uses

General Operating Grants are unrestricted within the approved charitable purpose when the organization’s overall mission aligns with BWGC. Program Grants are restricted to a particular aligned service or program. Examples include health services, addiction recovery, housing, education, workforce development, parenting, mentoring, legal services, and violence prevention. Excluded uses include endowments, capital improvements, most furniture and equipment except direct participant-benefit items, event tickets or sponsorships, deficit reduction, annual giving drives, and political activities.

How to apply

One application per organization per cycle is the general rule, with narrow exceptions for separately led umbrella entities or fiscally sponsored organizations. Applications must be submitted through the official BWGC online grant application portal, not by mail. Prepare the IRS determination letter or sponsorship documentation, narrative describing mission alignment, organizational financial statements/budgets, and a separate project budget for Program Grants. The published 17-page 2027 Application Guide explains the six application sections and required attachments. Optional information sessions occur November 2 and November 4, 2026. Grants are selected in spring 2027 with awards notified by early June.
