Southern Arizona Corazón Grants — 2026–2027

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) has announced Corazón Grants, a distinct competitive program for large anchor nonprofit organizations with substantial and sustained Southern Arizona community impact. Each eligible applicant may receive $50,000 for one year, with an opportunity for one additional $50,000 conditional renewal if ongoing eligibility and grant requirements are met. The second-year award is not guaranteed. Applications open November 2, 2026 and close November 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Arizona time. Applications are not yet open on October 27, 2026.

Eligible organizations

Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits in good standing or established Southern Arizona affiliate or chapter organizations of such nonprofits, have operated in Southern Arizona for at least five years, maintain an established governing board, be current on CFSA reporting, and incur annual operating expenses greater than $2,000,000. The funder’s Southern Arizona region includes Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Santa Cruz and Yuma counties, plus applicable portions of Pinal County south of the Gila River. Statewide or national affiliates must have a separate identifiable Southern Arizona budget above $2 million, established local staff and leadership, and sustained local community connections.

Use of funding and selection priorities

Corazón provides flexible organizational support for mission continuity, staff and benefits, services, organizational infrastructure and technology, fundraising, communications, and adaptation to community needs. Reviewers evaluate community relationships and trust, leadership and partnerships, organizational governance, stewardship, learning, reach, and sustained impact. No universal matching-funds percentage or reimbursement requirement is specified in the current public guidance.

Important restrictions

Fiscally sponsored projects and individual programs or departments of another institution are not eligible for Corazón. The program generally excludes individuals, commercial and government entities, individual schools, capital drives, agency endowments, debt reduction, sports teams, and sectarian religious activities. This grant is separate from CFSA’s CORE Grants; the latter targets nonprofits with annual operating expenses between $100,000 and $2 million. The conditional second-year amount should not be represented as money guaranteed at initial award.

How to apply

Applicants create an account in CFSA’s online grant portal and submit during the November 2–30, 2026 window. The Foundation expects decisions in March 2027 and funding in April 2027. Review the portal for exact supporting-document requirements, and ensure submitted information reflects the organization’s own work.
