Open FY2027 applicant grant; closes Friday, October 30, 2026, at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. The Latino Equity Fund at The Boston Foundation is inviting eligible locally rooted nonprofit organizations to apply for general operating grants supporting trusted community health care access and equitable economic opportunity for Latinx residents of Greater Boston.

Applicant-level award: Each selected nonprofit receives a one-time $50,000 general operating grant. The foundation intends to fund 10 organizations; $500,000 is the overall FY27 program pool, not an individual award. The controlling FY27 RFP and FAQ do not impose a universal cash-matching requirement. FY26 Latino Equity Fund grantees may not apply in FY27, although grants from other Boston Foundation programs do not automatically disqualify an applicant.

Eligible geographic and organization types: An applicant must be a locally rooted 501(c)(3) public charity, with an organizational budget below $5 million in the current fiscal year, headquartered within Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, or Suffolk County, Massachusetts and serving a majority of clients there. Its services and offices must not extend outside Massachusetts, and it must not be a regional, national, or international organization. Local affiliates require their own independent EIN. The FY27 FAQ additionally specifies that at least 50% of clients served identify as Latinx. Priority is given to the 13 local Latinx hub communities identified by the funder: Boston, Brockton, Chelsea, Framingham, Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Methuen, Revere, Saugus, Salem, and Waltham.

Funding priorities: Trusted community health access can include free/mobile clinics, free primary care, vaccination events, insurance enrollment help and medical-bill negotiation. Economic mobility activities include English-language learning (ESOL), professional licensing/credentialing, education-to-employment pathways, apprenticeships, workforce readiness, entrepreneurship training and culturally appropriate business-development support. Requested operating support must benefit the eligible Massachusetts catchment counties. The funder does not consider arts, historic preservation, animal welfare, basic research, medical research, endowments, significant capital campaigns, lobbying, sectarian religious purposes or discriminatory organizations in this cycle.

How to apply: Applications opened September 15, 2026 and must be received in the Boston Foundation’s SmartSimple grants portal by October 30, 2026, 5 p.m. Eastern. Review the FY27 four-page RFP and three-page FAQ before completing the proposal. Incomplete or late applications are not accepted; awards and decisions are expected by the end of December 2026. Contact the Latino Equity Fund community-impact team if technical or accessibility support is required.
