Salem County, New Jersey — 2027 History Mini-Grants
The Salem County Cultural and Heritage Commission offers applicant-facing financial assistance through the 2027 County History Partnership Re-Grant Program supported by the New Jersey Historical Commission. The Mini-Grants track permits requests of up to $1,000 per eligible applicant. No matching contribution is required. This is a distinct competitive re-grant track, not a procurement of services for the county.
Eligibility and public benefit
Salem County, New Jersey nonprofit or tax-exempt organizations undertaking small-scale public New Jersey history projects regardless of their broader mission. Individuals doing historical research and publication may participate under the umbrella of an eligible Salem County nonprofit or tax-exempt organization; this is not unrestricted individual funding.
Eligible uses and important exclusions
Eligible small projects are limited to public programs and presentations such as lectures or exhibitions, archival/conservation supplies and expenses, marketing or promotion of New Jersey historic resources, and research resulting in publication. Small organizations with modest budgets are particularly suited to this track.
Ineligible uses include construction, restoration of structures or gravestones, projects unconnected to New Jersey history, retroactive work, collection purchases, public-inaccessible projects, non-transcribed oral-history recordings and purchases of refreshments. Mini plus one other history grant is allowed only for mini research/publication work.
Application dates, award conditions and required documents

The county makes final awards after outside review. Generally one History grant type per organization per funding year.
