Honda USA Foundation — 2027 Mobility Pillar Program Grants
The Honda USA Foundation is accepting competitive applications for its distinct 2027 Mobility Pillar, offering $25,000–$100,000 in requested programmatic funding to qualified U.S. nonprofit organizations, nonprofit-fiscally sponsored programs, and schools. This is a charitable program grant; it is not a vehicle purchasing contract, dealership sponsorship, or the separate Honda corporate Education/Environment/Traffic Safety tracks.
Eligible activities
The 2027 Mobility Pillar must directly support individuals with disabilities and their independence, physical mobility, access, and participation. Official priorities are: (1) adaptive mobility and functional independence (assistive technology, adaptive equipment, mobility-related therapies, individualized home/vehicle modifications); (2) accessible community participation (inclusive recreation, education, employment, community-space accessibility and access to transportation); and (3) mobility support navigation and continuity of care (referrals, coordination, equipment/service access, caregiver support). Applicants should choose the one priority that best reflects their principal intended outcome.
Eligible organizations and geography
U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charities or projects under a U.S. tax-exempt nonprofit fiscal sponsor, plus public/private schools and districts recognized in NCES, may apply. Funding is used in the U.S. and proposed programs must serve at least one eligible Honda operating state/location. The official 2027 list includes Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas and Washington, D.C. Headquarters location alone does not determine eligibility; the proposed beneficiaries and program location control. The foundation primarily funds organizations with annual operating budgets over $500,000, but the funder does not state that as an absolute mandatory floor.
Restrictions and funding terms
Organizations with only pending 501(c)(3) status, non-U.S. organizations, political groups, private clubs, discriminatory organizations and conflicting interests are not eligible. Individual requests, athletic teams, political work, completed programs, religious-purpose events and applications outside the portal are excluded. The official FAQ explicitly allows program overhead and indirect costs without a specified universal cap. No universal cash matching contribution or automatic grant renewal is stated in the published 2027 instructions. Successful awardees must sign the standard grant agreement.
How and when to apply
Applications are accepted October 1–31, 2026 and are due October 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, with no late submissions or exceptions. The FAQ calls the cutoff “Pacific Standard Time” even though daylight time is observed that date; check the live application portal for exact controlling time and submit early. Applicants must begin with Honda’s online Eligibility Quiz, which routes qualifying applicants to the Mobility Pillar application. One program may not be submitted to multiple funding tracks; multiple applications may represent distinct programs only. Funding decisions are scheduled for spring 2027. Grants are competitive and renewal is not guaranteed.
