2027 Community Foundation of North Louisiana Small Organization Grants
The Community Foundation of North Louisiana is accepting 2027 Small Organization Grant applications for qualifying charitable programs benefiting Caddo and/or Bossier Parishes, Louisiana. Applications opened October 15, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. CST and close November 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. CST. This is a nonprofit applicant grant, not a government purchasing contract or federal-state allocation.
Individual award and applicant threshold
An organization may request up to $15,000 for the 2027 program. Its annual gross revenue must be below $250,000. The 2027 ceiling rose from $10,000 in earlier cycles; do not use the older limit. The funder’s current public instructions do not publish an overall pool for this category, guaranteed number of awards, mandatory percentage match, or a specific reimbursement-only condition.
Eligibility and program restrictions
Eligible applicants must be recognized under IRS Section 501(c)(3) or otherwise be an appropriate charitable grantee under the foundation’s stated rules. A 501(c)(3) applicant must already have its IRS ruling letter before applying, maintain good IRS Form 990 standing and meet all reporting duties on prior CFNLA grants. Projects must locally benefit Caddo and/or Bossier Parishes and align with one of the funder’s program areas: arts and culture, civic engagement, economic development, education, environment, health and science, human services, or organizational development.
Requests may support program activities, capital expenses, or general operating support. The foundation does not support sectarian projects, sponsorships or fundraisers, debt retirement, or reimbursement of costs incurred before approval. Funds cannot be transferred as dues or membership fees to a parent, regional, or national headquarters; grants must be used for the local project, though goods and services may be purchased from out-of-state vendors. The applicant must maintain commercial general liability insurance, and programs serving children require a child protection policy. The project must begin no earlier than June 1, 2027, end no later than December 31, 2028, and have a program duration of no more than 12 months.
2027 submission requirements
No preliminary letter of intent is required for Small Organization Grants in the 2027 cycle. Applicants submit one full application through the official Small Organization Grants page and linked grant portal. Required materials include a program budget, organizational financial information, Statement of Activities (profit and loss), Statement of Financial Position (balance sheet), and most recent IRS Form 990. Internal accurate financials are acceptable; a CPA-prepared statement is not required. Submit only one application across the foundation’s competitive grant categories in the annual cycle.
Applicants not funded through CFNLA’s competitive process during the prior three years must schedule a conversation or site visit with the grants department after submission, during the foundation’s November 15–February 15 follow-up window. Funds for selected projects are expected to become available on or after June 1, 2027 following award agreements; the foundation generally requires a final report 30 days after program completion. Any eligibility exception must be requested in writing before the application deadline.
Deadline: November 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. CST. Read the current 2027 small-grant eligibility instructions and competitive-grant process and exclusions before accessing the official portal.
