City of Seattle 2027 Technology Matching Fund (TMF)
The City of Seattle is accepting applications for the 2027 Technology Matching Fund to support community-led digital equity projects that help Seattle residents access the internet, develop digital literacy skills, and use technology effectively.
Funding and deadline
Individual awards are up to $45,000. The announced program funding pool is $410,000, subject to Seattle City Council approval; this overall allocation is not an individual applicant award. Applications opened October 15, 2026 and are due January 15, 2027 at 5:00 p.m. The published grant webpage does not specify a time-zone abbreviation.
Eligible applicants and location
Eligible applicants include qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofits, community-based organizations and groups with a nonprofit fiscal sponsor, tribes and tribal organizations, nonprofit business associations, and Parent-Teacher-Student Associations. Applicants must be located within Seattle city limits with a Seattle address; funded activities must take place within Seattle and benefit City residents. A group without nonprofit status generally must arrange a qualifying nonprofit fiscal sponsor. One application per applicant organization is permitted.
Community match and eligible activities
Applicants must document a community contribution equivalent to 25% of the requested grant amount, which can include eligible volunteer time, staff hours, donated materials, or cash contributions. Projects may provide digital navigators, digital literacy classes, internet connectivity, devices and technical support. School-related projects must be led by qualifying parent-teacher-student or community-based organizations and benefit the community through after-school or evening programming; ordinary in-school-only projects are excluded. Projects must be implemented within the authorized grant period, generally up to 12 months.
