Opportunity Overview
The OneGeorgia Authority Equity Fund, administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, provides grants, loans, and other authorized financial assistance to support economic development and employment creation or retention in eligible rural Georgia communities.
Funding
The maximum request is $500,000 per project. Projects using grant funds for public activities require local investment and must demonstrate a potential return-on-investment impact. The current public program page does not publish a single universal match percentage.
Eligible Applicants and Projects
Eligible recipients include general-purpose local governments, local government authorities, and joint or multi-county development authorities in eligible rural counties. A for-profit company may serve as the subrecipient, and financial underwriting of the subrecipient is required. The program is intended as funding of last resort when other public or private financing is unavailable or insufficient.
Eligible uses include water and sewer infrastructure, road and rail improvements, industrial parks, workforce projects, technology, and tourism tied to economic development.
Application Timing
Full applications are accepted quarterly on the second Friday of January, April, July, and October. DCA also requires an Initial Project Assessment with a Regional Representative before submission, and OneGeorgia pre-applications are due 30 days before the full application deadline.
For the October 2026 cycle, the second Friday is October 9, 2026. Because the required pre-application date for that cycle has already passed, Atlas should not initiate cold outreach to a new applicant for the October cycle unless authoritative evidence shows the applicant already completed the required pre-application and Initial Project Assessment. The next standard full-application date is January 8, 2027, with the required pre-application due 30 days earlier. The public OneGeorgia pages do not state an exact closing clock time or deadline-specific time zone, so Atlas must not infer either.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 70/100. This is a meaningful recurring Georgia rural-development source with a $500,000 ceiling and express eligibility for workforce and technology projects, but it is primarily an economic-development program requiring a qualified local-government or authority applicant and a credible employment-related project.
N9+ Fit: 10/100 conditional. QC Healthcare Fit: 10/100 conditional. A healthcare-related technology or workforce project could potentially fit only where it is genuinely part of an eligible economic-development project and all applicant, subrecipient, underwriting, local-investment, and procurement requirements are satisfied. Ordinary initial outreach must not introduce or sell N9+.
