Opportunity Overview
The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation is accepting Letters of Interest for the 2027 Callahan Incentive Grant. The program supports capital rehabilitation and restoration work at qualifying historic sites in Georgia.
Funding
The current official Georgia Trust grants page states that 1:1 matching grants of up to $5,000 are available to eligible nonprofit or governmental organizations in Georgia. The required dollar-for-dollar match may be provided through cash or documented volunteer hours, with volunteer time valued at the applicable minimum-wage rate for actual work performed at the historic site.
Eligibility
Eligible projects must involve a site that is listed in, or eligible for listing in, the National Register of Historic Places. Eligible applicants are nonprofit or governmental organizations undertaking qualifying preservation work in Georgia.
Allowable Work
Grant funds are limited to capital, bricks-and-mortar improvements to a historic site. Planning, consultants, speakers, and overhead are not eligible. Projects should provide significant impact toward full rehabilitation or restoration, demonstrate meaningful community support and impact, and show a sustainable long-term plan for use and maintenance. The Georgia Trust states that projects should generally be completed within one year of award and that grant funds are reimbursed after completion of the approved work.
Application and Deadline
The Georgia Trust states that the 2027 cycle opened for Letters of Interest on September 12, 2026. The current grants page identifies Friday, November 20, 2026 as the Letter of Interest deadline for the current historic-preservation grant intake, but does not publish an exact closing clock time or deadline-specific time zone. Atlas therefore does not infer either.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 54/100. The program is current, legitimate, and statewide, but the award ceiling is modest and the eligible uses are narrowly limited to historic-preservation capital work. N9+ Fit: 0/100. QC Healthcare Fit: 0/100. Healthcare technology or services should not be forced into this preservation program.
Verification hold: Atlas may continue applicant research, but ORIGINAL outreach must fail closed until a specific eligible historic-site project is verified and the deadline clock time/time zone, recipient identity, CRM Contact, Email_Opt_Out, permanent hard-bounce status, Deal/queue/prior-send history, and cross-lane deduplication are all resolved.
