Funding: Mass Cultural Council lists a FY2027 statewide Tribal Cultural Council allocation of $71,200. Aquinnah Wampanoag Cultural Council, Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe Cultural Council, Mâseepee Cultural Council, and Nipmuc/k Cultural Council each receive $17,800. Individual awards vary by council; Mass Cultural Council strongly encourages awards of at least $250, and average grants tend to be approximately $500-$750.

Eligible applicant types can include individuals, incorporated nonprofits, unincorporated associations, incorporated for-profit organizations demonstrating community benefit, Tribal/federal/state/municipal government organizations including public schools and libraries, and qualifying religious organizations for non-inherently-religious public-benefit projects. Each TCC may further prioritize or limit eligibility through its published local guidelines.
Eligible projects: Broad arts, humanities, and science activities with community benefit, including operating support, ticket subsidies, field trips, artist residencies, public art, fellowships, community events and programs, site-specific projects, and other locally prioritized activities. Programs must comply with statewide criteria and the relevant TCC’s local priorities.
Match: No statewide applicant match or cost-share requirement is stated in the current application page, FAQ, or program guidelines reviewed. Applicants must still verify any local TCC conditions and priorities before applying.
Application package and submission: Applicants should review the current program guidelines, the sample application, and the selected TCC’s Council Profile. Applications are submitted online through Mass Cultural Council’s grants management system. Some TCCs may require supplemental materials uploaded with the application. Paper or mailed applications are not accepted.
Funding considerations: Awards and payment methods vary by Tribal Cultural Council. Applicants must review the relevant council’s current local priorities, eligibility requirements, supplemental application materials, and reimbursement or direct-payment procedures before applying.
