Opportunity Summary
The Ohio Department of Development FY27 Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program is open for the current application cycle. An official Ohio House notice dated September 8, 2026 states that approximately $21.5 million is available statewide and that the application period opened September 15, 2026. The program supports demolition of dilapidated commercial and residential structures and site revitalization intended to improve communities and support economic development.
Deadline and Submission
An official Greene County FY27 program page lists the ODOD Demolition Site Portal opening September 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and closing October 16, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The page does not state a time zone for the ODOD portal close, so Atlas does not infer one.
Local county intake and approval dates may occur before the statewide portal cutoff. Applicants should verify the designated county process and controlling FY27 requirements before outreach or application work.
Eligibility and Required Materials
The controlling FY27 Ohio Department of Development guidelines provide for one designated Lead Entity per county. The Lead Entity is the award recipient and grant-agreement party. Private property owners must work through the designated Lead Entity. Eligible subrecipients may include other local governments, nonprofit organizations, community development corporations, regional planning commissions, county land reutilization corporations, and community action agencies. Eligible properties are blighted, vacant, or abandoned commercial and residential buildings on sites that are not brownfields.
Incomplete applications are ineligible. Required information includes proof of access, proof of blight, proof of vacancy, a project budget, proof of non-brownfield status when a brownfield is suspected, and a match commitment letter. Applicant-specific eligibility and county intake procedures must still be verified before outreach or package production.
Funding and Match
The controlling FY27 guidelines provide $21.5 million for FY 2027, plus any FY 2026 funds not reserved. Grants are limited to 75% of total project cost, so each project requires a 25% match. The maximum residential application request is $500,000 and the maximum commercial application request is $2,500,000. Administrative costs may not exceed 10% of the grant. Optional post-demolition greening and architectural-element costs are capped at $5,000 per project.
Atlas Fit
Atlas Opportunity Score: 62/100. This is a current, substantial statewide community-development capital opportunity, but it is not specifically a healthcare program.
N9+ Fit Score: 5/100. Very low. Demolition and site-redevelopment work does not naturally support N9+ deployment. Do not force N9+ into an inappropriate project.
QC Healthcare Fit: 4/100. Very low unless an eligible demolition or site-redevelopment project is directly tied to a credible healthcare redevelopment scope.
