Open now. The Sherman County Community Foundation (SCCF), an affiliate of the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation, is accepting applications through its 2026 quarterly community grant cycle for projects benefiting Sherman County, Kansas.
Funding and Deadlines
SCCF’s current 2026 schedule lists quarterly application deadlines of March 31, June 30, September 30, 2026, and December 31, 2026. The Foundation’s current public guidance does not publish a closing time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one.

Who Can Apply
SCCF states that eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, educational organizations, government entities, and religious organizations. Groups outside those classifications may be able to work through an eligible fiscal agent, subject to Foundation guidance. Grants are typically restricted to the geographic area served by the Foundation.
What the Foundation Supports
The Foundation expressly supports projects in health, human services, education, youth programs, recreation, community development, arts and culture, and the environment. Its general guidelines permit project or program support, seed funding, capacity building, technology and equipment, professional development and training, staffing needed to launch a new program, and capital improvements such as construction or renovation.
SCCF will not consider incomplete, incorrect, or late applications; political projects; discriminatory organizations or projects; or operating deficits and debt retirement.
Submission and Application Materials
Applications are submitted through the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation’s online application system and routed back to SCCF for local review. The current public SCCF page does not publish a grant-specific mandatory attachment checklist or match requirement. Applicants should follow the live portal requirements and provide only verified organizational and project information.
