Opportunity Overview
The Fremont Area Community Foundation accepts competitive grant applications for projects that provide civic improvement, educational, health and recreation, social services, or arts and cultural benefits to Fremont, Nebraska and surrounding communities.
Deadline
October 1, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The controlling Foundation page does not state a time zone. Competitive grant applications are accepted quarterly.
Funding
The Foundation does not publish a universal maximum request for the regular competitive program. Requests of $1,500 or less may be eligible for the separate Mini-Grant process. Requests totaling $50,000 or more are reviewed once annually during January, with a Letter of Intent recommended by December 1.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are tax-exempt organizations under IRS Section 501(c)(3), organizations eligible to receive that designation, and public entities such as schools or governmental institutions. Grants are not made to individuals except through scholarship component funds. The Foundation does not typically fund deficit financing, annual fund drives, or ongoing operating expenses, and it does not fund religious organizations for religious purposes.
Geography
The Foundation generally funds projects in Fremont and surrounding communities across its published service area in Dodge, Washington, Burt, Cuming, Colfax, Butler, Douglas, and Saunders Counties. Requests benefiting communities outside the usual service area may be considered individually.
Application Requirements
Applicants may apply online or use the Foundation’s official PDF application. Required materials include an organization description; a project narrative of up to three pages; an evaluation plan; project income and expense budgets showing pending or confirmed funding sources; the cover page and authorized signature form; IRS 501(c)(3) documentation or application; the first page of the most recent IRS Form 990; a board and officer list with email addresses; the most recent financial audit or compilation if available; the current fiscal-year operating budget; and, when applicable, a parent-organization support letter. Capital requests may include building or renovation design plans or a concept description.
Atlas Assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 78/100. N9+ Fit Score: 45/100 conditional. The opportunity is open, locally administered, and explicitly supports health, recreation, and education. A defensible N9+ or QC Healthcare role depends on a specific eligible applicant, allowable project design, and the Foundation’s review of the proposed budget. No direct Dr. Miltie or QC Healthcare applicant path is established by the published eligibility rules.
