Current participant rules require a bachelor's degree, enrollment in student teaching at a Michigan-approved educator preparation provider, and veteran status under MCL 35.61.
Atlas Analysis
Formal scoring is deferred. MDE anticipates FY27 applications from November 2 through December 7, 2026 but has not yet posted the controlling FY27 application instructions or final funding and award limits. The current program page supports paid student teaching, qualifying subject-area examination costs, implementation support staff, mentor stipends, and certain salary-support structures, and requires districts to phase down grant-supported salary so that 100% is paid from non-grant funding by September 30, 2027. This is a school workforce program; no N9+ technology-procurement role or direct Dr. Miltie prime-applicant pathway is established by the current official materials.
