NJEDA Main Street Acquisition Support Grant 2026

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority is currently accepting applications for the Main Street Acquisition Support Grant. The program reimburses eligible New Jersey small businesses for qualifying closing costs related to a New Jersey commercial property the business purchased to operate from.

Maximum grant amount: $50,000. The program is limited to one grant per EIN for a maximum of one location. The grant is reimbursement-based and is available only after a qualifying real-estate closing.

Eligibility: For-profit and nonprofit entities may qualify if they meet the SBA small-business definition for their NAICS code. The closing must have occurred after October 1, 2024, and the grant application must be submitted no later than one year after closing. Applicants must obtain New Jersey Tax Clearance, be in substantial good standing with NJEDA, the New Jersey Department of Labor and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and use an arm’s-length conventional lender. The purchased property cannot be residential-only or vacant land.

Property requirements: The applicant must operate from the purchased New Jersey property, occupy at least 1,000 square feet of usable building space, and commit to a five-year occupancy compliance period. Special rules apply when a related real-estate holding company owns the property.

Healthcare relevance: The program is not healthcare-specific, but a qualifying New Jersey physician practice, urgent-care center, clinic, behavioral-health provider, or other healthcare small business that recently purchased its operating property may be able to use the grant to recover eligible closing costs. It does not fund advance purchase costs or a future closing.

N9+ Fit Score: 10/100. This is primarily a business-property reimbursement program, not a clinical-equipment, telehealth, diagnostic-device, or care-delivery grant. No direct Dr. Miltie eligibility is established from this control record.

Current availability: NJEDA’s official program page states that applications are currently being accepted. The program page does not state a fixed application deadline; eligibility instead requires applying within one year of the qualifying closing.
