Serve Alaska, State Service Commission, within the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, has issued FY 2027 Competitive AmeriCorps State and National Grants, RFP 27AC-C.
The application deadline to Serve Alaska is October 23, 2026 at 5:00 PM AKST. The RFP also lists a November 20, 2026 at 4:00 PM AKST resubmission deadline in the AmeriCorps Grants Management System for applicants advancing through the state process.
Eligible organizations include Indian Tribes, institutions of higher education, local governments including school districts, nonprofit organizations, states, and U.S. territories, subject to the program requirements. Applicants must maintain an active SAM.gov registration and Unique Entity Identifier. Programs operating in more than one state generally apply directly to AmeriCorps rather than through Serve Alaska.
New applicants may apply only under the Cost Reimbursement model. The required non-AmeriCorps match is 24 percent in program years one through three, increasing in later years under the RFP schedule. The maximum AmeriCorps cost per Member Service Year is $26,800 for both Competitive Cost Reimbursement and Competitive Full Cost Fixed Amount awards. Total available funding depends on annual appropriations.
The RFP emphasizes service addressing Alaska priorities including rural and tribal communities, youth mental health and substance use recovery, behavioral health career pathways, education, workforce development, senior support, veterans and military families, and public safety and criminal justice.
Important timing note: the Notice of Intent deadline of September 8, 2026 and the mandatory pre-application conference on September 11, 2026 have already passed. Organizations should confirm their eligibility to continue in the FY2027 process before investing in an application.
Applicants should use the official RFP package and required documents, including the RFP Documents Checklist, Cost Reimbursement Budget Workbook, applicable waiver forms, financial and audit materials, and AmeriCorps application materials.
