Opportunity Overview
The Dane County Civil Rights Department is accepting applications for the 2026 Partners in Community Racial Equity and Social Justice Grant Program. The program supports Dane County based community organizations working to address systemic racial inequities in health, education, employment, or criminal justice.
Funding and Deadline
Individual eligible organizations may request up to $15,000. Partnerships or collaborations of two or more eligible organizations may request up to $50,000.
Applications must be received by the Dane County Civil Rights Department no later than October 9, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. The current official announcement does not separately state a time zone, so Atlas does not infer one. This does not prevent publication, but applicant outreach should remain conservative until deadline timing is fully verified from the live application package.
No mandatory match or cost share requirement is stated in the current official program page or September 11, 2026 County announcement. Applicants should confirm the current application package before budgeting.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are Dane County based community groups or Dane County based nonprofit organizations with a Federal Tax ID number that are working to address systemic racial inequities in health, education, employment, or criminal justice. Applicants with a prior award must demonstrate project completion and satisfactory progress, and past performance may affect eligibility.
Program Focus and Material Restrictions
The program is designed for community led efforts addressing systemic racial inequities. The current program page gives particular emphasis to criminal justice disparities and recommendations related to racial disparities and mental health challenges in the Dane County criminal justice system, while the grant program also expressly covers health, education, and employment.
Atlas does not treat the broad health category as authorization for any particular medical device, telehealth platform, clinical service, or equipment purchase. Project specific allowability must be established from the current application and any award terms before such costs are proposed.
Application and Submission
Dane County directs applicants to the Civil Rights Department PIC grant page to obtain the application materials. Completed applications may be submitted by email or delivered to the Dane County Civil Rights Department, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Room 356, Madison, Wisconsin 53703. Applicants may contact DCCRDGrantSubmission@danecounty.gov or call 608-283-1391 for an application or questions.
Atlas Strategic Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 72/100. The opportunity is current, locally administered, explicitly includes health and education, and can support meaningful community based equity work. The relatively modest award size and broad social equity focus limit its fit for major clinical technology projects.
N9+ Fit Score: 10/100. The controlling public materials do not establish a remote examination, telehealth, diagnostic equipment, or clinical technology pathway. Atlas should not force the Nonagon N9+ into this opportunity.
QC Healthcare Fit: 15/100 conditional. A health related applicant could potentially include professional or program support if the current application permits it, but the public materials do not establish a direct QC Healthcare scope.
Dr. Miltie direct applicant or vendor fit: 0/100 under the published eligibility structure. The program is for Dane County based community groups and nonprofits with a Federal Tax ID number; no direct Dr. Miltie pathway is established.
